A Man in Uniform- gasp!

How did this happen??? I'm so sure he was just a cute little boy a few days ago and now he is all grown up!!

He has turned out to be a very nice, caring, and responsible boy. I can hardly believe he will be turning sixteen- although, I am reminded almost daily as he keeps sending me car listings from craigslist!

Seriously!!

this is broken #$%@&!!!

Good thing I have this for my dry, chapped, wrinkled hands

and this for a yummy smelling kitchen

and this for constant laughs and joyful moments!

Highs and Lows

I love the New Year and all the hope that comes with it. All in all I'd say this last year was filled with lots of good family times, good memories, and of course a few lows.

Lows
-Not much progress has been made in my relationship with our oldest
-I have not lost one single pound all year and still feel overwhelmed and disgusted by the whole situation
-Shift work
-Back pain
-Depression that always seems to be waiting for me; I constantly feel like I'm running from it

Highs
-An awesome trip to Chicago to see my sister and brother and the delicious Tim McGraw and Lady Antebellum!!
-An underlying peace and acceptance of situations I don't like and have little power to change
-A marriage that is better and happier than ever- thank you Love Languages!
-Yoga- physical activity and mental therapy all in one glorious hour:)



I feel hopeful for the New Year and have decided on my word for the year- that will have to wait for another post.

I almost forgot...

Before our broken arm and mono adventures we had a very special visitor-SANTA!! That's right a personal visit from the man himself. We were watching Santa Clause 2-which disturbingly enough all three little peeps can recite verbatim- when the doorbell rang and low and behold it was Santa with a few Christmas stockings for the small ones. They were so excited! It was a moment of pure joy for all of us!!
