This past school year Hayden was part of the Firefighter Explorer program. They take the same tests, use the same gear, and do the same physical requirements- like crawling into buildings filled with smoke- that the men at the firefighting school do!! Hayden did a great job and stuck with it through his fear of heights and the demands of school. We are thankful that he was able to have this opportunity and proud that he finished out the year even though there were times he didn't want to.
He is still undecided about doing it again next year. He will be graduating High School a year early and working. I'm very grateful that he has so many interests and goals!! He is a joy to have in our family!!
